Bombers Burrito Bar Expands Schenectady Location

New LaPlaya Brings the Beach to Downtown Schenectady

September 16, 2010

Schenectady, N.Y., September 16, 2010 – If you are looking to stretch out the summer, Bombers Burrito Bar in downtown Schenectady has the answer. Bombers will open its new beach-themed party room called La Playa this October.

La Playa is Spanish for the beach.  The new room can host groups up to 50 people. It is located on the third floor of the Bombers Building at 447 State Street in downtown Schenectady across the street from Proctors.

Matt Baumgartner, owner of Bombers said, “The Schenectady location is very popular and downtown continues to be revitalized. We have many groups who come to our Schenectady location and we were often asked about providing private party space.  So we turned our vacant top floor space into La Playa.  It is designed to help your group have the best time possible short of actually heading to the beach.”

Interested beach-goers can reserve the room for parties featuring Bombers’ famous burritos, food, drinks and a summer that never ends (except at closing time.)

Schenectady County officials were unanimous in their praise for La Playa.

“Matt Baumgartner and Bombers has played such a huge role in our downtown re-development efforts,” said Susan E. Savage, Chairwoman of the Schenectady County Legislature. “Bombers is always full of activity and I know La Playa will make it even more fun and bring added vitality to Downtown Schenectady.”

“Ride the wave of downtown revitalization,” said Ray Gillen, Metroplex Chair and Commissioner of Economic Development and Planning for Schenectady County.

Bombers operates locations in Albany and Schenectady. The company is also considering franchise opportunities. For more information or to reserve La Playa for your next party go to www.bombersburritobar.com.
