Capital Region Land Bank Meeting

July 17, 2026 —The Capital Region Land Bank Board met yesterday and continued its efforts to remove blight and develop quality housing with the approval of four new projects. The Land Bank awarded a contract to Dan’s Hauling & Demolition for the demolition of a blighted duplex at 566 Crane Street, as well as demolition of 1014 Pleasant St and abatement of 929 and 1001 Pleasant St in preparation for an affordable homeownership project by Better Community Neighborhoods, Inc.  Garages at 638 Hamilton St and 1401 Crane St will also be demolished to prepare sites for new affordable single-family homes to be installed as part of Land Bank’s Move-In New York infill project. The Land Bank also awarded $50,000 to Habitat for Humanity to build a single-family home on Lorraine Avenue, and a $50,000 grant for a project that will transform a long-vacant church in Hamilton Hill into 12 apartments designed to meet the needs of seniors.
