Schenectady County, N.Y. — Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced the addition of two new Schenectady County Community College (SCCC) sponsored businesses for the Start-Up New York program.  The announcement can be found at http://www.governor.ny.gov/news/governor-cuomo-announces-15-additional-companies-join-start-ny.

Statement by Anthony Jasenski, Chairman, Schenectady County Legislature on Governor Cuomo’s Start-Up New York Announcement

“We are very pleased that the County’s unified economic development team, with strong leadership from SCCC and Metroplex, landed these two companies for Schenectady County creating a total of 34 new jobs.  We are thankful for Governor’s ongoing support of our economic development efforts that helped us bring these companies that could have located anywhere in the United States to our County.   We also thank Tony Civitella and his team at Transfinder for their outstanding work with the NY BizLab which is fast becoming a tech hub in our rejuvenated downtown.  We also note that while these two companies will receive State tax benefits, the NY BizLab building is paying full property taxes so this project is creating both new jobs and new tax base for Schenectady County.”

Statement by Dr. Steady Moono, President of Schenectady County Community College (SCCC) on Governor Cuomo’s Start-Up New York Announcement

“We are extremely pleased that Governor Cuomo has selected two SCCC sponsored companies for the Start-up New York Program. SCCC worked closely with Metroplex and the New York BizLab to bring Furlocity to downtown Schenectady from San Diego.  Our collective efforts also landed Lottery Rewards, a fast growing internet company.  We are very pleased to partner with these two companies to create job and internship opportunities for our students and for the community.”
