2019 Schenectady County Best Tasting Drinking Water Competition

City of Schenectady Wins Title

Schenectady County, N.Y. — Congratulations to the City of Schenectady for winning back their title of Best Tasting Drinking Water in Schenectady County for 2019.  The runner-up was the Town of Rotterdam.  The City last won the title in 2015 when they also won the regional title.   The City will now go on to the regional competition in Albany and if successful, the State finals held at the New York State Fair in Syracuse.

“Congratulations City of Schenectady for taking the title Best Tasting Drinking Water in Schenectady County,” said Anthony Jasenski, Chairman of the Schenectady County Legislature.  “Thank you to everyone who came down to be part of the competition and helped choose the winner.”

The competition was held today, July 3, 2019 at the Farmers’ Market in downtown Schenectady.  The downtown market is located on the corner of Jay Street and Franklin Street near City Hall. Visitors to the Farmers Market were invited to taste blind samples and vote for their top two favorites.  Two points for a first place vote and one point for a second place vote were awarded.
