M&T Bank Center To Host NYSPHSAA Section 2 Hockey Semifinals and Final

Games are set for Wednesday, February 25, and Monday, March 2

Schenectady, NY (February 19, 2026) – The new M&T Bank Center in Schenectady is proud to announce that it will play host to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Section 2 Hockey semifinals and championship game.

The Section 2 semifinals will be played as a doubleheader on Wednesday, February 25, with games at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m.). The Section 2 championship game will take place on Monday, March 2 at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.).

Prior to the championship game, Section 2 will hold a brief on-ice ceremony recognizing seasonal award winners.

Participating teams will be announced as matchups are determined.

“We began our partnership with Union College in 2003, and we’re excited to see it continue at the M&T Bank Center,” said Juan de la Rocha, Section 2 Hockey Coordinator.

In addition to being home ice for Union College’s NCAA Division I men’s and women’s hockey programs, the M&T Bank Center will also host the New York Phoenix professional basketball team, which will make its home debut on March 29.
