SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — The husband-and-wife team who in fall 2020 opened The Nest on State Street as a sibling of their contemporary Southern restaurant The Cuckoo’s Nest in Albany have signed a lease for the only commercial space in an under-construction building nearby for their next venture, a Mediterranean eatery called Mila Restaurant & Bar.

A spring 2023 opening is projected, said Kaytrin  Ziemann, who owns the restaurants with her chef-husband, Devin Ziemann. They also own the burger and fro-yo concept Crave in Albany. (Mila is pronounced mee-la.)

The new building is at 501 State, on the corner of Clinton Street. It replaces a former Citizens Bank location that was razed. The owner is Redburn Development, which also redeveloped the Foster Building complex, where The Nest is located.
