Schenectady Business Owners Back Rivers Casino & Resort at Mohawk Harbor

SCHENECTADY- Schenectady business leaders, led by the 1,000 member strong Chamber of Schenectady County, today announced their strong support for the Rivers Casino & Resort at Mohawk Harbor.

“The Board of Directors of the Chamber of Schenectady County unanimously passed a resolution in support of Rivers Casino & Resort at Mohawk Harbor,” said Charles Steiner, President and CEO.  “We believe that Rivers Casino & Resort is a great opportunity for Schenectady. The added draw of yet another respected destination in our city will encourage more people to visit our community.  The planned $450 million investment at Mohawk Harbor by the Galesi Group and Rush Street Gaming will create approximately 1,250 new permanent jobs and bring more business and opportunity to our members and that is why we fully support this exciting project for our community.”

“Since opening our doors, it has been our distinct pleasure to serve the residents of the Capital Region and beyond,” Bobby Mallozzi, co-owner of Johnny’s Restaurant and co-owner of Villa Italia said. “We fully support Rush Street Gaming’s first class casino proposal. We view this exciting development as an opportunity to bring in more visitors and offer them a taste of Schenectady.”
