Scotia, N.Y. — Scotia Manor Luxury Apartments celebrated its grand opening at 49 Mohawk Avenue, Scotia with a ribbon cutting hosted by the Chamber of Schenectady County on February 27, 2013.
Bruce Tanski, owner of Bruce Tanski Construction & Development, LLC, based on Halfmoon, is the owner of the new apartment complex. The business builds single-family homes, townhouses and luxury apartment buildings throughout the area.
Tanski stated, “Paying attention to detail is what separates the success stories from everyone else.”
Tanski got his start after college in 1971, when he built his first apartment complex. In the ensuing years, he increased his inventory to 1,000 units in nine different complexes.
Tanski’s ability to see a parcel of vacant land and visualize a new project was the start of yet another new venture, The Fairways of Halfmoon Golf Course and Banquet Facility, which opened in 1999. Tanski also built 150 townhomes with their own Par 3 Executive Course near The Fairways of Halfmoon. His most recent development is Scotia Manor Luxury Apartments in Scotia.
“I’m renting places before they’re built, which means there’s definitely a demand,” Tanski said.
Construction of the apartments in Scotia began last summer. The three-story, 51-unit complex is built on 1.7 acres at the corner of Mohawk Avenue and South Ballston Road. These units cost between $850 a month for one-bedroom units to $1,300 a month for two-bedroom apartments. Tanski estimated the project’s cost between $6.5 and $8 million.
Tanski is a caring landlord and is concerned about providing a quality yet affordable living concept for all his tenants. He said, “Although I have experienced business growth and success, all my tenants know I am only a phone call away.”
Tanski saw the need for an increase in quality, well-managed, multi-family property in Schenectady County and decided to take the chance and buildScotia Manor Luxury Apartments.
Scotia Manor’s rental office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
