We are very pleased that the PiSA Pharmaceutical project received $4 million in funding today from Governor Cuomo’s Regional Economic Development Council program.
We will use this funding to bring a large international company to the Town of Rotterdam where PiSA will construct a new 187,000 square foot, $66 million pharmaceutical manufacturing plant creating more than 100 new jobs. This is the largest private sector project to receive funding in the Capital Region this year and it is yet another sign that our economic development efforts in Schenectady County are focused and effective.
We also appreciate the $363,000 in funding we received to help us transform the former Trustco building on Erie Boulevard into offices and apartments.
To continue our work with the Capital Region Land Bank and the City of Schenectady, we are very excited that the Crane Street corridor project was funded at $460,749. This project was helped by the County’s investment in the new branch library on Crane Street.
We thank Governor Cuomo for supporting these key projects that will continue the momentum and progress we are seeing in Schenectady County.
