Schenectady County, N.Y. — The New York Power Authority today approved an allocation of low cost power to Adirondack Beverages in Glenville, NY. The approval of discount power will help the company’s manufacturing plant located in the Glenville Business and Technology Park to expand. Adirondack Beverages is investing more than $2 million to add a sixth production line adding ten new jobs and helping to retain over 200 existing jobs in Schenectady County.

The discount power awarded to Adirondack Beverages is part of the Recharge NY Program. Recharge NY was created by Governor Cuomo to help businesses grow and add jobs by providing low cost electricity.

“Today’s announcement of an allocation of Recharge NY power to Adirondack Beverages is more good news for Schenectady County and our local economy,” said Legislator Marty Finn. “The County Legislature vigorously supported this application with both the Regional Council and the State. We thank Governor Cuomo, Lt. Governor Duffy, Empire State Development Corporation and the New York Power Authority for their support of our economic development efforts.”

The Recharge NY applications this year were rated by the Governor’s Regional Councils before heading to the State for scoring. Schenectady County’s unified economic development team sent letters of support and made direct contact with the Co-Chairs of the Regional Council, the Chair of the Economic Development Power Allocation Board and the Lt. Governor all pointing to the importance of Adirondack Beverages to the local economy.
