Mohawk Harbor Marina Wins Boaters’ Choice Award

December 30, 2019

Schenectady, N.Y.  – The Galesi Group today announced that the Mohawk Harbor Marina has been selected as a 2019 Boaters’ Choice award winner by Marinas.com.

David Buicko, CEO of the Galesi Group said, “The marina provides a great amenity at our waterfront development and brings more visitors to Schenectady. We look forward to another great season in 2020. The first day of spring is only 80 days away.”

To earn this recognition, the Mohawk Harbor Marina had to receive reviews that rank in the top 3% of all facilities reviewed at Marinas.com.

“It has been our pleasure to work with the Galesi team in developing a great marina destination for both the local and transient boating community,” said marina owner Kathy Donovan. “As long-time supporters of Schenectady and it’s revitalization, we believe Mohawk Harbor and the waterfront development offer residents and guests access to history, culture and one of the most beautiful sections of the NYS Canal system. We are so proud of the marina team and their dedication to customer service and earning this award.”

The Galesi Group developed Mohawk Harbor, downtown Schenectady’s $550 million waterfront featuring residences, office space, Rivers Casino & Resort, two hotels, the marina, green space and hiking/biking trails. The marina at Mohawk Harbor features 55 dock slips. Both daily and seasonal rentals are available.

Mohawk Harbor is the second marina managed by Brian and Kathy Donovan. They also own and manage Donovan’s Shady Harbor Marina, located just south of Albany on the Hudson River.

The State recently awarded a Regional Council grant of $948,884 to help support the construction of a 680 foot dock at Mohawk Harbor that will allow even more access to the riverfront and allow larger boats to dock and stay in Schenectady.
