SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — While PacMan is eating dots, patrons of UnBEETABLE, a new arcade bar and restaurant in downtown Schenectady, can indulge in vegan food.

This addition to Schenectady’s nightlife is the vision of Chelsea Heilmann, who opened her first vegan venture, Take Two Cafe, in Schenectady last May.

Heilmann developed the hybrid concept for UnBEETABLE while living in Colorado, where she encountered various arcade bars.

“I liked the idea and I wanted to figure out how to make it a little bit more interactive, where it’s not just strictly video games or old-school arcade games,” said Heilmann, who grew up visiting arcades and had amassed a collection of unique games. “You have the Dave & Buster’s, but those are catering to a different market and I wanted to do something where you don’t have to spend $100.”
