Jennifer Schnitzer, Executive Director & CEO of USTA Eastern said, “USTA Eastern has an incredible working relationship with Discover Schenectady and the city has been home to our sectional championships for nearly 10 years. The relationship we have with Discover Schenectady and the city has enhanced the experience that staff and players have, and we hope we can continue to build on our success for many years to come.”

Todd Garofano, Executive Director for Discover Schenectady added; “We are excited to welcome USTA’s Eastern Sectional Championships back to Schenectady this August and September. Having assets like the tennis courts at Central Park to draw tournaments and overnight visitation has a tremendous economic impact on our community and supports jobs in the hospitality sector. Over the course of these five weekends, USTA will generate well over 1,500 room nights at four Schenectady hotels, bringing business to our restaurants, shops, and small businesses. We thank the tournament organizers for choosing our community and wish all the players and spectators a wonderful stay here in Schenectady.”
