August 2, 2021

Schenectady, N.Y. — According to New York State’s COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker website, over 100,000 Schenectady County residents have completed the COVID-19 vaccine series, which is equal to approximately 64 percent of the total County population.

Schenectady County is currently ranked second in New York State for adult vaccination, with 82.6% of residents 18 years of age or older having had at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose.¹

“We’re incredibly proud of how the Schenectady County community has stepped up to protect themselves, their families, and fellow residents,” said Schenectady County Legislator Sara Mae Pratt, Vice-Chair of the Health & Human Services Committee.

“While Schenectady County is ranked second in New York State for adult vaccination, our county also meets the CDC threshold for precautionary masking at this time. Breakthrough cases are occurring, and there are still neighborhoods, age groups, and areas that are incredibly vulnerable to COVID-19. If you have questions about vaccination, we encourage you to reach out to your primary care provider or visit one of our community PODs to speak with our public health staff.”
