SilverGraphics to Expand at Schenectady County Business Center

July 26, 2013

Schenectady County, N.Y. —  SilverGraphics Studios Inc. will expand at the Schenectady County Business Center at 920 Albany Street.  SilverGraphics provides hundreds of schools across the country with imaginative ways of turning artwork into keepsakes that are sold as part of school fundraising efforts.  The company imprints student artwork on dozens of items from mugs to magnets to phone covers.  Businesses turn to SilverGraphics for capital fundraising campaigns as well.  Donors sponsor tiles to build “walls of art.”  The result raises needed funds and creates beautiful tile displays.

The company with 15 employees will take additional space in the County Business Center growing to almost 4,000 square feet of leased space.  SilverGraphics also expects employment to increase by 30% in the next three years as more schools order an expanded range of SilverGraphics products and more businesses sign on for creative capital campaigns.

The company was founded in 1995 by Betty Ireland Dufresne who is President of SilverGraphics.  In 2004, Gretchen Wagner Feero joined the company as Vice President and co-owner and it has been women owned ever since.

“We are continually amazed by the artwork we receive from schools across the country. Expanding our space in the Schenectady County Business Center will allow us to work with many more schools to create keepsakes for parents and profits for art programs and more,” said Ms. Dufresne.  “We also hope to work with more businesses and non-profits to create stunning tile walls and successful capital campaigns. We have enjoyed expanding our business in downtown Schenectady and look forward to many more years here in the Business Center.”

“SilverGraphics has a reputation for quality products and we’re proud to have them as a tenant in the County Business Center.  These are the success stories we strive for through our support of the center,” said Philip Fields, Chair of the Legislature’s Committee on Ways and Means and representative from the district where the County Business Center is located. “We congratulate SilverGraphics on their expansion and wish them continued success.”

The Business Center is a 25,000 square foot building operated by Metroplex and Schenectady County as part of the County’s unified economic development team.  The Business Center is now home to eight companies with 95% of the building leased.  The Business Center is currently negotiating a small office lease that will bring occupancy to 100%.
